Today is the big day. I am updating the data for goodirishstock.com. I store my public data for The Ferris Family Genealogy Project on my laptop running an Linux Operating System called KUbuntu. I store my data in an application called GRAMPS which like KUbuntu is an open source distribution. As a back up I run Family Tree Maker on Windows XP on my desktop computer which I am currently also updating. So today is the release of goodirishstock.com Spring 2009 which will have the latest data updated in GRAMPS as well the introduction of this BLOG.
I hope the BLOG will replace my open-source PHP Bulletin Board as a way of communicating daily what is going on with goodirishtock.com as well as receiving communications from those who read it but without all the unwanted postings and bots I had trouble with using the Bulletin Board.
I hope everyone looks in on this new Spring version of the Ferris Family Genealogy Project for Spring 2009 and sends me any corrections, additions or suggestions that will make my data and research more complete or useful.
The weather in Hyde Park today is mostly sunny with temperatures in the lower and mid forties.
The Narrow Line
We walk a lonely road
Or so I have been told
That life's a lonely journey for us all
But here I'd like to say, somewhere along the way
We choose how we stand and how we fall
For to walk upon this earth, there's a price I have to pay
For all you do and say, and all you hope and pray
And all that you oppose and obey
And all that you believe, and all you laugh and grieve
and what you have become today
And to think the way I do, there's a price I have to pay
Walk the narrow line, walk the narrow line
Walk the narrow line back home
I'll walk until I find, my truth and piece of mind
I will walk the narrow line
Peace will come, your peace will come
When all is said and done
It's only a memory away
And when you find peace, and all your angers cease
Then you'll make some sense of it all
Then the promises of truth, that shone so bright in youth
Give way to greater knowledge as they fall
To be truthful to myself, there's a price I have to pay
Or so I have been told
That life's a lonely journey for us all
But here I'd like to say, somewhere along the way
We choose how we stand and how we fall
For to walk upon this earth, there's a price I have to pay
For all you do and say, and all you hope and pray
And all that you oppose and obey
And all that you believe, and all you laugh and grieve
and what you have become today
And to think the way I do, there's a price I have to pay
Walk the narrow line, walk the narrow line
Walk the narrow line back home
I'll walk until I find, my truth and piece of mind
I will walk the narrow line
Peace will come, your peace will come
When all is said and done
It's only a memory away
And when you find peace, and all your angers cease
